Caution - Has a serious organize flaw : V-MODA XFLPR-PWHITE Crossfade LP Over-Ear Metal Headphones (Pearl White)
Definitely the most exact pair of headphones I've used...
I've been a Dj since 1995 and been through hundres of headphones; the closest in sound potential to these would be Bose or Sony. It doesn't try to boost the bass or the highs, holding all things in balance, so unless you have a expedient with an Eq don't expect it to make up for the poor potential of most consumer mp3's. I do mostly Dance, hip hop and Reggae, so I my music has quite a bit of range.
From a Dj perspective, they are exquisite sound wise, and compactness is not legitimately a notice in this arena. They reproduce the sound faithfully, and I know if the bass is muddy in the headphone, it will be muddy on the speaker. roughly eliminates the need for a monitor in the Dj booth. They also have a unique look and will draw concentration (I've got the white ones) since they aren't your run of the mill Sony or Pioneer headphones. while it lacks a rotating ear piece, the metal hinges bend well adequate I can have one earcup behind my ear without discomfort. As far as head size, my ball caps are a 7 3/4 and these don't hurt my head at all, and they seem very flexible. I have somewhat large ears and they fit fully around my ears and don't put any pressure against my earrings (my biggest gripe about my Sony's). They will make your ears sweat though if you wear them long enough. The only thing that would improve it is a coiled cord option, notion the kevlar re-enforced cords are of good quality, and being able to take off them from the headphone when putting them away will extend their lifespan.
I plugged them into my Android phone, and the sound potential is above what I would expect inspecting its size. Not bad on my iPhone either.
All in all a great set of phones for listening to music on your iPod or queing it up on the dance floor. Let's see if they beat the one year life span most my headphones have. If you're legitimately into customizing, the metal plates on the ear cups can be removed and engraved.
